MICHAEL NYVANG

Michael Nyvang, né en 1963 à Aarhus, a étudié la composition avec P. Nørgård, I. Nørholm, H. Abrahamsen et, lors d’un séjour en France, avec T. Murail.

A partir de 1989 il étudie la composition à la Jutland Academy of Music (d’où il sort diplomé en 1995) et poursuit ses études dans la classe des solistes. Il a suivi des cours de technologie informatique à la DIEM (l’Institut Danois de Musique Electro-acoustique) et la Datalogic Institute à Aarhus. Il reçoit une bourse de la Fondation Augustinus et du Conseil des Arts Danois pour étudier à Paris et en 1995 il reçoit pour une durée de trois ans une bourse du Comité des artistes de la Fondation des Arts Danoise. Ses principales œuvres sont Satser til et Monument over vor Verdens Ensomhed (1986-1993); Rekonstruktion – før Stilheden (1991-1993); Erosion – Forvitring (1995); Modelstudie I (1995); Modelstudie II (1995); Oprindelse (1991 rév. 1998). Il a été chargé de projets franco-danois par le Centre d’Information Musicale Danoise (2001-2002) et gère sa propre compagnie, naun, spécialisé en technologie informatique.

Michael Nyvang, born in 1963 in Aarhus, studied composition with P. Nørgård, I. Nørholm, H. Abrahamsen and, during a stay in France, with T. Murail.

As of 1989 he studied composition at the Jutland Academy of Music (diploma 1995) and continued his studies in the soloist class there. He also followed courses in computer technology at the DIEM (Danish Institute for Electro-Acoustic Music) and Datalogic Institute in Aarhus. He received scholarships from the Augustinus Foundation and from the Danish Art Council for studies in Paris and in 1995 the 3-year scholarship of the Danish Art Foundation’s tone artist’s committee. Major works include: Satser til et Monument over vor Verdens Ensomhed (1986-1993); Rekonstruktion – før Stilheden (1991-93); Erosion – Forvitring (1995); Modelstudie I (1995); Modelstudie II (1995); Oprindelse (1991 rev. 1998). In addition to his work as a composer, he was in charge of Franco-Danish projects for the Danish Music Information Center (2001-2002) and currently runs his own company, naun, specialized in computer technology.
